Exploring Your Options: Cosmetic Consultation
Your questions. Your goals. A thoughtful place to start.
Whether you have a specific treatment in mind or simply want to understand your options, a cosmetic consultation is an opportunity to talk it through.
At Decatur Dermatology & Aesthetics, we start by listening. We’ll discuss what you’d like to improve, assess your skin and facial features, and explain approaches that may fit your needs.
Understanding the Cosmetic Consultation
A cosmetic consultation is a conversation and an individual assessment—not a commitment to treatment.
Dr. Baender will help you understand what different treatments can reasonably achieve, their limitations, and the benefits and risks to consider.
Your plan may involve an office treatment, changes to your skincare routine, a combination of approaches, or no treatment at all.
Topics We Can Explore Together
You’re welcome to bring questions about:
Expression lines and facial wrinkles.
Changes in facial fullness or contour.
Uneven skin tone, texture, or dullness.
Acne scars and other cosmetic skin concerns.
Treatments such as Dysport, Restylane, Sculptra, PRX, or microneedling.
Building a skincare routine that fits your needs.
You don’t need to arrive with the right terminology. Simply tell us what you’ve noticed and what you would like to explore.
What to Expect During Your Consultation
We’ll discuss your goals, medical history, current skincare routine, and previous aesthetic treatments.
Dr. Baender will assess the areas that concern you and explain appropriate options. Together, we’ll consider your preferences, budget, available recovery time, and how quickly you hope to see improvement.
You’ll have time to ask questions about the proposed approach, expected results, risks, aftercare, and maintenance.
If you decide to proceed, we’ll explain the next steps and scheduling.
Planning Around Your Goals
A thoughtful treatment plan considers more than a single concern.
Some improvements develop gradually or require several visits. Others involve temporary swelling, bruising, or sensitivity. We’ll discuss these considerations so you can plan around your daily life and important events.
You can take time to consider your options before making a decision.
Consultation Fee and Insurance
The cosmetic consultation fee is $95. This fee covers the consultation and is not applied toward future treatment.
Cosmetic consultations are not covered by insurance. Payment is made in the office.
If treatment is recommended, we’ll explain the anticipated cost separately before you decide to proceed.
Our Approach to Aesthetic Care
Aesthetic care should feel thoughtful, personal, and comfortable.
At DD&A, board-certified dermatologist Dr. Kelli Baender brings her understanding of skin health and facial anatomy to every treatment plan. We take time to listen, explain your options, and help you decide what fits your goals.
Our aim is to help you make an informed choice that feels right for you.

-
Absolutely. Dr. Baender actually requires a cosmetic consultation before beginning treatment. This gives us time to understand your goals, review your medical history, assess your skin, and discuss appropriate options.
If this is your first aesthetic treatment, we’ll explain everything in plain language and make room for your questions. No prior knowledge or experience is needed.

You’re welcome to book a consultation. Tell us about previous procedures, your results, and any concerns or complications.
That history helps us assess what may be appropriate next.

The $95 fee covers Dr. Baender’s time and expertise: assessing your skin, understanding your goals, and discussing appropriate options with you. You’re paying for personalized guidance, whether or not you decide to pursue treatment.
The consultation fee is separate from treatment costs and is not applied toward future treatment.
